People
UT is an exceptional community of learners, scholars, leaders and trailblazers, and they drive our aspiration to become the world’s highest-impact public research university. Here’s how we’ll measure our success.
Attract outstanding, high-potential students, staff and faculty
Our goal is to serve more students and learners through affordable yet world-class education and honors programs. To do this, we must recruit and retain exceptional staff and faculty and be a great place to work for them.
Engage Longhorns for life, personally and professionally
Our commitment to our Longhorn community will last a lifetime. We will increase alumni engagement of all types, including direct engagement and support of UT programs and students, and attract more annual giving supporters than any public university in the nation.
Create a distinctive UT culture
What does it mean to be a Longhorn? We get to define UT’s cultural aspiration and embed this across our community. This includes strengthening access and belonging with efforts like our Hispanic Serving Institution achievement to broaden impact.
Raising $1 Billion for Student Support
Supporting student success is an essential priority in becoming a high-impact public research university. UT recently made history when it became the first university in the state to raise $1 billion for students in a philanthropic campaign. Funds raised through the What Starts Here campaign support essential programs, scholarships, and fellowships to help make UT more affordable and accessible.
