The University of Texas at Austin is already the flagship educational and research engine in the most dynamic city in the country’s most thriving state. Yet solving grand challenges requires that we ensure that our processes, policies, and programs can support our bold vision.
10-Year Strategic Plan
How We Got Here
We began our journey in early 2021. Our team, led by faculty and an advisory committee, met regularly with more than 100 campus leaders, reviewed 1,500 responses from student and staff surveys and conducted 275 interviews, focus groups, and working sessions with campus stakeholders.
The result was a community-informed perspective that set the aspirational foundation of Change Starts Here and its strategic pillars.
Our strategic plan is organized around three key pillars that have always made UT exceptional: our people, our place and our pursuits. Each pillar has several initiative areas and measurable goals we are holding ourselves accountable to. These areas represent the biggest opportunities for creating impact in our world along with UT’s unrivaled expertise, ingenuity, and resources.
